The flowers go home, the music stops, and someone finally finds the missing shoe. The pictures and messages are what you get to revisit. If you are planning a wedding, birthday or celebration in Lagos, decide early how you want to keep those memories and what you want your guests to take away.

A guestbook, a takeaway, or a little of both?
A photo guestbook collects pictures and handwritten messages in one place. A takeaway print gives guests something to bring home. If you want both, tell the photography team before the event so the print plan accounts for both uses.
Count prints rather than assuming one print equals one guest. A couple may share a photo, a group may want several copies, and a second copy for the guestbook uses another print. Decide which matters most if the allocated prints begin to run low.
Start with a simple print plan.
For example, if you expect twenty groups to take a picture and want one copy for the album and one for each group to keep, that is forty prints. It is an illustration, not a package recommendation: your guest count, coverage time and activities will change the plan.
Share your guest count and priorities when enquiring. Compare the current coverage packages and ask what happens if you would like additional prints. Confirm any extra costs and arrangements in your quote.
Make it easy to notice and easy to use.
Choose a spot that guests will pass, with enough space to stop without blocking a doorway. Agree on lighting, setup time and placement with your venue and photography team. A guestbook table needs room for the album, suitable pens and whatever mounting supplies you have chosen.
Ask someone to gently remind people to leave a message. A short prompt is more inviting than a blank page. Try “What should we remember about tonight?” or “Tell us a story we will still laugh about in ten years.” Confirm who provides the album, pens and props rather than assuming they are included.
Leave room for the voices, too.
An audio guestbook keeps something a picture cannot: someone's laugh, the way they say your name, a story told in their own voice. You can pair it with prints or choose it on its own.
Ask about the recording setup, onsite hours, how the files will be delivered, and when you can expect them. Positioning matters: discuss a quieter spot away from speakers, and make sure guests understand they are leaving a recording.
Before you confirm the booking.
After the event, sit down with the album while the stories are still fresh. Add the names and little details you did not have time to write on the day. That is when a collection of pictures begins to feel like your own history.
- Share the date, venue location, guest count and coverage hours.
- Explain how many prints should go into the album and how many guests can take home.
- Confirm what is included and who supplies the guestbook materials.
- Agree on setup access and a suitable location with the venue.
- Ask how any digital photos or recordings will be delivered.
- Check the quote and booking terms, especially for travel outside Lagos.
