A little frame for a photo you love.

Not every picture needs a reason to be played with. A favourite portrait, a weekend with friends, a view you keep coming back to: give it a frame and a few words, then save a version you can share.

Start with a picture on your device.
Open the Instax Photo Maker and choose your photo. For the digital editing and download flow, your photo stays on your device. You do not need to place a print order to use it.
You can add several pictures and move between them. Check the crop for each photo rather than assuming the same framing will work for every image.
Mini, Square or Wide?
Choose Mini for a portrait-shaped picture, Square for a balanced crop, or Wide when the scene needs more room from side to side. Changing the shape can change what fits, so reposition your photo afterwards.
- Mini exports a framed image at 1128 × 1760 pixels.
- Square exports at 1472 × 1760 pixels.

Find your colour.
Try Pearl white for a classic border, or use Coral, Tangerine, Sunshine, Deep teal, Aqua or Plum to pick up a colour in your picture. The preview is the easiest way to see whether a frame supports the photo or competes with it.
Frame colour and the surrounding paper colour are separate choices. The frame colour becomes part of the downloaded image. A darker frame can make a bright picture feel especially vivid.
Leave a little breathing room.
Move the photo in its frame, use Zoom to bring the subject closer, and rotate if needed. On mobile, open the adjustment controls to find the crop tools. Keep faces away from the edges when you can.
Tap the caption area under the image and add a few words. A date, a place or an inside joke is plenty. Captions have a 42-character limit, so choose the bit you most want to remember.
Download one, or collect a little set.
Use Download Mini image, Download Square image or Download Wide image to save the open photo. With multiple pictures, Download all collects the frames in a ZIP file. Open the ZIP on your device to find the individual images.
If you have added a shader filter, download that photo individually to include the effect. The batch ZIP uses each saved crop, rotation, frame colour and caption; it does not apply the active shader to every picture.
When you want something to hold.
A framed download is a digital image. To order physical prints through the maker, use the Mini print option and review the checkout details. Square and Wide are available for digital downloads, but are not offered by this online print handoff.
The upload for a print order happens after you choose to continue with printing. Keep your original photo as well as your framed download so you can return to it later.
